Training platform in diabetes, obesity and cardiometabolic health (myROaD)
Health Research Training Platforms | Canada – Global
Maximize your Research on Obesity and Diabetes (myROaD) is a CIHR-funded training platform that was created through the collaboration of six Canadian research networks in the field of obesity, diabetes and cardiometabolic disease and is led by Professor André Tchernof. The objective of this platform is to contribute to the education, training and professional development of graduate students and early career researchers in the field of obesity and diabetes research. MyROaD aims to equip students and young researchers with mentorship opportunities as well as professional and academic training, including project management, scientific communication, interdisciplinary research, and more. Patient partners will be involved at every stage of the platform’s development. MyROaD will integrate principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion into its curriculum, including notions of sex and gender, indigenous ways of knowing, and unconscious bias in research.
